Rooted in the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement, Action Academy trains a new generation of leaders who can diagnose injustice, organize their communities, and advance a just and inclusive democracy. Action Academy builds the civic leadership pipeline our democracy needs—developing young leaders who think critically, act courageously, and grow other leaders. It is also a paid opportunity, because we believe young people’s leadership is a meaningful contribution to our civic landscape and should be valued as such. We prepare young people not just to take part in democracy, but to shape it through sustained, community-rooted leadership.

Changemakers are driven by a deep passion to uplift others, taking action to solve problems and spark meaningful change in their communities.

Civic knowledge is more important than ever, but many young people—especially in key states—lack the tools to fully understand how democracy works. With misinformation spreading, it's crucial to have accurate, accessible civic education to help you take informed action.

Our goal is to engage students from all 50 states by the next Presidential election. We’ve already reached 43 states (86% of our goal!) and will focus on the remaining 7 in the next two years. We’ll prioritize swing states and competitive races, where your voice can make a real impact.
